05.07.2010 40 asset management companies have been prequalified In total, 40 companies have been prequalified to tender for one or more of the investment management agreements, for which LD has announced in an EU Public Procurement tender. LD received 230 applications for prequalification. Applications were submitted by 100 companies, several of whom sought to become prequalified for multiple mandates.
40 companies where prequalified and these will now proceed with the tendering for the 12 mandates, which will be awarded later this year. 70 applications were approved in the prequalification process and it means that several companies have been prequalified to tender for more than one mandate. The prequalified represent a vast range of both specialized asset managers and large financial groups. Mostly international firms but also Danish firms are prequalified.
All companies, which have submitted applications, have been informed of the outcome of the prequalification round, and hence whether they are able to proceed with an actual tender for one or more contracts.
According to the timetable LD decides on contract award in late October this year. There will be assigned contracts on 12 investment mandates. The number of contracts awarded, however, will be greater as contracts will also be signed with managers who will remain "on the bench" and may later be offered the opportunity to manage a mandate.
The Swiss firm, PPCmetrics, has assisted LD with evaluation and selection, and the company will also assist in the upcoming process of evaluation of tenders.
