Outsourcing
The board of directors and management are responsible for overall strategic management, including the objectives for outsourcing to collaboration partners and the guidelines for monitoring and control
For several years, LD Pensions has utilised outsourcing in order to draw on the expertise and economies of scale offered by our collaboration partners. This has made it possible to carry out these tasks with a team of 17 employees, who are primarily responsible for management, monitoring and reporting in relation to tasks handled by external partners. Furthermore, LD Pensions’ own organisation ensures that rules and guidelines are adhered to both internally within LD Pensions and externally with its partners.
Membership Administration
In December 2014, following the submission of a tender to the EU, LD Pensions entered into a collaboration agreement with FDC A/S regarding membership administration and IT operations. Membership administration was originally transferred from ATP to FDC in October 2010. FDC has selected KMD A/S as a subcontractor for the membership services area.
The agreement with FDC offers several options for adjusting costs in line with the falling number of members. Furthermore, LD Pensions has secured better opportunities to monitor service objectives.
Investment Management
Following the submission of an EU tender in 2014, LD Pensions selected Danish and foreign portfolio managers, who are responsible for investment management in relation to the various investment mandates.
LD Pensions has structured its investment management and the agreements with external portfolio managers in such a way as to ensure that both members of the LD Discretionary scheme and the other portfolios within LD Pensions benefit from the same investment management. This offers advantages not only in terms of investments, but also in terms of lower portfolio management costs.
Investment Fund Administration
The majority of LD Pensions’ listed assets are held by Kapitalforeningen LD (KLD). By holding the assets in an alternative investment fund, it became possible to enter into an agreement with an investment management company regarding the administration of securities. Such an agreement was entered into with Nykredit Portefølje Administration A/S in 2018, in cooperation with J.P. Morgan Bank Luxembourg as depositary bank and global custodian.
