Over 61 years of age

The deadline for claiming the tax credit expires when you turn 61. The vast majority of people have claimed the credit before the deadline.

You are eligible for the tax credit from the year you turn 60 until the year you turn 61. We will ensure that you are offered the tax credit within the applicable time limits.

How can I tell if I’ve received the discount?

By logging into your LD Account with MitID, you can check whether your savings have been converted into an LD Retirement Savings account, for which tax has already been paid to the state. Check whether your account is called an LD Retirement Savings account. If so, you have received the tax relief. If, on the other hand, your account is called an LD Savings account, you have not received the tax relief.

Why haven’t I received the discount?

If you have turned 61 and have not received the tax credit, this is probably because you have opted out of it. You may have done so to ensure that you can later transfer your savings to an instalment pension or a life annuity pension.

How much is the discount?

The financial benefit of the discount is that you receive approximately 4 per cent more than you would otherwise. In kroner and øre, the value of the discount increases if the savings earn a positive return.
