Under 60

As a general rule, your LD savings may be paid out from the age of 60 at the earliest, but if you meet certain requirements, this may take place before you turn 60
The most common reasons for requesting a payout before the age of 60
  • You have been granted a disability pension.

  • You have been granted a pension from an approved pension scheme, a civil servant’s pension (tjenestemandspension) or a pension for staff employed on terms similar to those of civil servants.

  • You have been awarded compensation for a loss of at least 50 per cent of your working capacity.

  • You have left Denmark.

  • You are suffering from, or have been suffering from, a life-threatening illness.

  • Disbursement rules.

If you believe you meet one of the criteria for a payment, you can request a payment form by calling +45 7013 1377 and entering your personal identification number.

You must provide documentation proving that you are entitled to receive your LD savings.

Tax on payment

When your savings are paid out, the Danish State will deduct approximately 40 per cent tax from your savings.

However, from April 2015, it is possible, within certain time limits, to claim tax relief, meaning that you will receive a reduction in the tax paid to the state. You can claim the tax relief without applying for a refund, but you must provide the necessary documentation.
