Senior Analyst for Quantitative Portfolio Construction and Strategic Asset Allocation

We are strengthening our strategic work on portfolio construction and asset allocation, and are looking for a colleague who can build up our analytical capacity and make strategic contributions to the management of our members’ assets, which total DKK 46 billion.

We are looking for a committed and talented colleague to build a stronger in-house analytical capability and optimise the processes behind quantitative portfolio construction and strategic asset allocation for the Employees’ Holiday Allowance Fund and the Cost-of-Living Allowance Fund. With your analytical skills and strong drive, you will contribute to our vision of being Denmark’s leading investment fund.

About the job

You will be a valued colleague in an organisation of just under 20 staff members. You will be part of the investment department, which works on strategic objectives and frameworks for asset management, as well as the selection of investment strategies and portfolio managers across the various investment areas. We focus on professionalism and expertise in all our processes and seek solutions that are sound and smart in relation to our goal of achieving the best possible results for our members.

Your main responsibilities:

  • prepare analyses and decision-making proposals concerning portfolio construction and strategic asset allocation
  • develop or select tools for portfolio construction and strategic asset allocation
  • establish a streamlined process for analyses and decision-making documents
  • update your knowledge of the theory and practice of portfolio construction.

In addition, you will work with colleagues on:

  • incorporating climate targets and ESG risks into portfolio construction
  • return expectations, analysis and risk modelling for a wide range of asset classes
  • strategic currency hedging and derivatives strategies
  • preparation of board materials and ad hoc analyses across the organisation.

Your profile

You take a quantitative approach to portfolio construction, are analytically strong and have a solid understanding of various asset classes and financial products. You bring a positive attitude to the role and are keen to play an active part in a team focused on professional development, mutual support and well-being. With practical experience in the financial sector, you have the skills and drive to drive progress in your area of responsibility.

We would like you to have the following qualifications:    

  • experience in portfolio construction and strategic asset allocation
  • quantitatively sound and possessing strong analytical skills
  • a sound understanding of business and a willingness to collaborate
  • experience in preparing decision-making proposals for senior management and the board of directors.

It would be an advantage if you:

  • is familiar with various allocation models and systems
  • is open-minded and keen to find Partners, and is able to develop their own models
  • has knowledge of risk premium strategies and long-term return expectations.

Day-to-day life in the investment department is largely characterised by teamwork, a positive atmosphere, and discussions and analyses relating to investments. In addition to you, the investment department will consist of a CIO, two portfolio managers, an ESG analyst and a student.

You will report to the CIO, Kristoffer Fabricius Birch. The salary will be determined on the basis of your qualifications and experience. The place of work is LD Pensions’ office at Flintholm Station in Frederiksberg.

LD Pensions – professional and sustainable

LD Pensions manages pension savings for 400,000 members of The Cost-of-Living Allowance Fund, with assets of DKK 25 billion, and 665,000 members of the employees' holiday allowance fund, with assets totalling DKK 21 billion. The Investment Department is responsible for setting the overall investment strategy for both funds. The strategy is implemented through externally managed mandates and funds with Danish and international asset managers.
